The moment that you feel that just possibly you are walking down the street naked…that’s the moment you may be starting to get it right.
It doesn’t come as news to many that I am a hopeless car enthusiast.
I love everything about cars, be it cruising, tracking, modifying, servicing and detailing. Or even just looking at the damn thing.
I love the sensation of the down shift heading into a corner, blipping the throttle to perfect the rev-match.
I love venturing down B roads on the weekend and blasting through the winding deserted streets.
There is something therapeutic about dropping the roof and getting out for a drive. And it works wonders in alleviating the pre-occupations of the past week. Better still on an overcast day, you can sense every ounce of your stress dissipating, with every stroke of the wind through your hair and fingertips.
Recently, I wrote a piece on the importance of seeking out and pursuing your passion. The more I reflected on this piece, the clearer it became that I needed to be my own patient zero and live my own advice. So I stopped working on the “How to Become a Better Human Being” series. It was silly to think that you’d want to take advice from a 25-year old in either case, better to lead by example.
Consequently, I redirected my focus towards a passion project called Driv. A project I plan to commit considerate time developing heading into 2016. It’s been somewhat scary to commit time, money and energy into something unknown, where already, we’ve had our fair share of setbacks and challenges.
Overwhelmingly, however, I am just excited to be working on something that aligns with my current passions and also engages in the dialogue of humanity. All with the full support of my other half, who has been like a rock to me since the very beginning.
Stay tuned to find out more about Driv.
